Why Silk

This is How it Works
Silk helps protect little kids’ hair from breakage mainly by reducing friction and moisture loss. Here’s how:
1. Reduced Friction
- Cotton or rough fabrics can cause friction as kids move around in their sleep. This friction can lead to hair tangling, pulling, and eventually breakage.
- Silk is very smooth, so it allows the hair to glide over the surface, minimizing tugging and knots.
2. Moisture Retention
- Silk doesn’t absorb moisture the way cotton does. Cotton pillowcases or hats can pull natural oils and moisture from the hair, making it dry and brittle.
- Silk helps retain those natural oils, keeping hair softer, more hydrated, and less prone to breakage.
3. Less Static and Frizz
- The smooth surface of silk reduces static electricity, which means less frizz and fewer flyaways — especially important for curly or textured hair that’s more prone to dryness and breakage.
4. Gentle on Sensitive Scalps
- Kids often have more sensitive skin and scalps. Silk is hypoallergenic and soft, making it gentler overall and less likely to irritate the scalp or cause discomfort.
